DYES
Fabricare range of Vat Dyes are derived
from anthraquinone and have high all round fastness
properties when applied to cellulosic fibres. They
are marketed in a range of physical forms such as
Acra Conc. Powder, Powder Fine, Microperle and Supra
Disperse. They are supplied in water insoluble form.
When applying them to cellulosic fibres it is necessary
at some stage of processing to convert them into
their soluble "leuco" state by means of
sodium hydrosulphite (reducing agent) in the presence
of caustic soda. At the end of dyeing oprocess,
the insoluble form is regenerated by an oxidation
process. A final soaping treatment is given to develop
ther correct shade and maximum fastness. |

DYEING
METHODS
»» Fabricare
dyes are applied by three different methods.
The methods, however, do not differ fundamentally
and many dyes can be applied by more than one method.
To obtain level dyeings, the fabric should be scoured
by boiling for 30 minutes in a bath containing 1-2
parts Lissapol-D and 3-4 parts soda ash per 1000
parts water. The patterns have been produced
by hank dyeing in open beck on bleached unmercerised
cotton yarn at a liquor to goods ratio of 20:1. |
